Step 1: Setting the Stage with Real-Life Examples

 

I will help get the students ready for the study of water conservation by demonstrating how much water is useable and clean on the Earth using the "A Drop In A Bucket" activity (see pictures below). I will explain to students that even though Earth is called "earth" it is mostly comprised of water. This water is not always accessible or useable. As a class, we will brainstorm why specific spots are not useable, or easily accessible.
